(21 Day Notice)

(Temporary Banned Right Turn)
Somerset Council, in exercise of its powers under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and after giving notice to the Chief Officer of Police, has issued a Notice, the effect of which is to introduce a temporary banned right turn on the lengths of roads listed in the Schedule to this Notice.
This Notice will come into operation on the 3rd day of October 2023 between 0730 hours and 1830 hours to enable SCC Small Improvement Scheme to safely carry out highway construction works on Chedzoy Lane. This Notice will remain in force for a maximum of 21 days. The restriction will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. If the works cannot be completed during that period Somerset Council may issue a further 21-day Notice under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or make a temporary Order under Section 14(1) of that Act to continue in force the provisions of this Notice for a further period.

Statement of reasons for making the Order a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
