Coronavirus support helpline update

Coronavirus support helpline update

In line with the lifting of government restrictions, the Coronavirus support helpline closed on Thursday 31 March.

The line has taken over 18,000 calls from Somerset residents who needed help during the pandemic, an incredible achievement.

Launched in April 2020, the single phone number helpline made it easier for people in Somerset to access local authority support, including emotional support.

It linked together the District and County Council Contact Centres, operating seven days a week, 8am to 6pm, including bank holidays, making it the one number residents needed for Coronavirus-related enquiries.

Heartfelt thanks go to a very committed group of staff who adapted to the situation quickly, were flexible and used their skills and experience to make a real difference to the most vulnerable people in Somerset when they most needed it.

If residents need require support, please contact your local authority.
