M5 J23 to J22 northbound resurfacing, including J22 slip roads

M5 J23 to J22 northbound resurfacing, including J22 slip roads

Highways England plans, builds, operates and maintains England’s motorways and
major A roads. I am writing to let you know we will shortly be carrying out roadworks
near to you. A map detailing the location is included within this letter.
The works
As part of our package of works along the M5 we are going to resurface the northbound
carriageway and hardshoulder between junctions 23 and 22. We will also resurface
J22 northbound exit and entry slips. To minimise disruption, we’ll work overnight when
there are fewer vehicles on the road. During the day we will keep the carriageway open
as usual. Please accept our apologies in advance for any disruption this may cause.
Dates
The works will take place from 24 July to 29 August 2019. During this time we will keep
the carriageway open, but lane restrictions will be in place. We will need to close J22
slip roads, please see below for list of dates and diversions.
Please note: all works will take place overnight Monday to Friday between the hours of
8pm and 6am. We will suspend works from 23 to 26 August 2019 to accommodate bank
holiday traffic.
Slip road closure dates:
24 & 25 July 2019 – J22 north and southbound exit-slip closure
26 July 2019 – J22 northbound entry-slip closure
29 & 30 July 2019 – J22 northbound entry-slip closure
31 July, 1 & 2 August 2019 – J22 north and southbound exit-slip closure
5 August 2019 – J22 northbound entry-slip closure
12 August 2019 – J22 northbound entry-slip closure
13 August 2019 – J22 northbound exit and entry-slip closure

Traffic management and diversion routes
M5 J22 northbound entry-slip closure
– traffic will be directed along the A38 and A39
to join the M5 northbound at J23
M5 J22 northbound exit-slip closure – traffic will be directed to leave the M5 at J23 to
follow the diversion via the A38 and A39
M5 J22 southbound exit slip closure – traffic will be directed to leave the M5 at J23 to
follow the diversion via the A39 and A38
We always aim to work to the programme, however
unforseen circumstances or
adverse weather conditions may mean changes to it.
We will notify you of major
changes via advance roadside warning signs, but please also monitor
www.trafficengland.com to keep up to date. We will make every effort to ensure the
impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum.
